I have been parenting for a decade.

A whole decade.

I have a kid in the double digits.
What the what?

And she wanted a Harry Potter birthday.

So for a slack mom whose idea of a nutritious lunch is making sure the kids have packaged crackers AND a string cheese, I gotta say, I Hogwartsed the shiznit out of this party.

We had cousins, friends, potions, butterbeer, live animals, and even a mystery to solve.

And this ten year old daughter of mine?

Love her.

Love her love for reading and all things Harry Potter.

Love her passion for learning and her sweet smile.

Love that she complicated my world and made it so much better all at once.

Happy Birthday, Emma Grace!!

  1. Although I didn't see the pic of me holding the HarryPotterStyleBeardedDragon :) I enjoyed all the pics and the wonderful memories of the fun last weekend! Emma Grace is such a sweet double digit girl too! Hard to believe she's that old, but I am so incredibly proud of her and love her SO much! Good thing I'm not aging!

    1. I didn't have that one. Allisen took it. Sorry. :(

    2. Just teasing! I have trouble looking at it.....realizing I was holding his snake-like tail???

  2. Cannot believe EG is double digits! And what a cutie pie! Of course her obsession with reading is hardly a surprise :) Love all the party decorations. Go Rachel and Todd!!
